Are YOU a Lazy Litterbug?

Why should you recycle?
If you have ever seen a landfill site the answer is obvious. Tons and tons of rotting refuse poisoning the land and waterways and infested by millions of rats and flies is reason alone. But the global impact on the long term is even greater reason to be responsible for recycling your own rubbish.

It is not difficult to lose the habit we have all acquired of throwing all our waste into a black bin liner and dropping it outside our homes once a week then forgetting all about it. Richmond Council are working hard to help us to recycle as much as possible by providing containers & regular collections so why not take advantage of it and do your bit to make our world a cleaner greener place for our children to enjoy? Click here now to order your recycling containers

Recycling in the Richmond borough benefits Africa
Did you know that by recycling your aluminium cans and foil you are also helping grow tree
s in Africa? Richmond upon Thames council has signed up to the Trees for Africa campaign being run by ALUPRO (www.alupro.org.uk) and British charity Ripple Africa in Malawi (www.rippleafrica.org). The project works by buying a tree for every tonne of aluminium collected in the borough. The more aluminium cans and foil you recycle the more trees they can buy! Read more

Fulwell & Hampton Hill Policing

Free Bicycle Marking in
Bushy Park

On Saturdays, when the weather is fine, around 4-6pm, the Safer Neighbourhood Team are available just inside the Hampton Hill New Gate (the one next to Hampton Hill Hardware) to mark your bike free of charge. This is now done with paint on the underside of the frame which is only visible under a UV light. When you find your bicycle stolen you report it giving the police your password and this helps them identify your bicycle instantly should it be found. They recently marked 32 bicycles in just two hours so pop along and get yours done too. Well worth taking advantage of!

Fight the Graffiti Offenders!

Click here to learn more about the reward offered by Richmond Council

No sooner had the passageway leading to the Fulwell train station been cleaned up and made to look respectable by offenders doing their Community Service, then some irresponsible vandal came along with a can of spray paint and sprayed his 'tag' all over the fences.

If you have any information about this graffiti that appeared on the 15th May 2008 please let Richmond Council know about it especially if you know who the ' tag' belongs to as there may be a reward of up to £1,000 for information which leads to arrest and conviction of this vandal.
See: www.richmond.gov.uk/graffiti_removal

The council and the Safer Neighbourhood Team have photographs of the graffiti if you need to see them to identify the culprit.

Did you know that according to statistics Fulwell, Hampton Hill & North Hampton is the safest ward in the safest borough in London? We can be very proud of ourselves for this achievement! But we must remain vigilant and on the first Tuesday of every month you can walk into the Greenwood Centre and have a cup of coffee with our Safer Neighbourhood Team between 1-2:30pm to discuss any concerns you may have about our village. If this time is inconvenient do drop a letter into the Greenwood Centre for them or contact the team directly. See the PLG page for more details about this and other policing matters.
